Confrontations between the population and soldiers have gone on for the entire day. At different times, the population succeeds in making the soldiers retreat, and at other times, the people retreat and hide in homes.

The people of the city are in open rebellion against the curfew, and they are unwilling to remain shut up in their houses.

Three neighborhoods where the Resistance is being given shelter have been raided, and the number of people arrested by the army during these raids is unknown.

The actions have acquired an impressive radicalization in several parts of the country and right in Tegucigalpa. The population realizes that by organizing themselves against the repression, they get away better than if they stay hidden. Three deaths are confirmed, all young people, and it is also known that there are hundreds of arrested people in the soccer stadium and the Olympic Village, where it is supposed that there are at least 400 detainees, incommunicado and without food; among the detainees and the disappeared are pregnant women, women holding babies and mainly young people. One youth is shown on television at the moment that soldiers shoot at him, and he falls down dead for yelling "golpistas" at them.

They are firing directly at the people in all the demonstrations, and armored cars emitting smoke are being used; people are also being evicted by smoke bombs [being thrown] through windows into their homes.

Right now, there are still 300 people staying inside the Embassy of Brazil, using their bodies to protect Zelaya, without light, water, or food. Meanwhile, Zelaya has stated that he has begun to communicate with the army.

It is essential that the international mobilization to strengthen the heroic Resistance that the Honduran people are carrying out against the army, be extended. With their self-organization, the Honduran people have been violating the curfew order all day. And it is also essential that the Resistance by the population in the streets be backed by the force of a general strike until the coup plotters fall.
