Press Release
All our support to the resistance movement in Honduras.
23/09/2009
(PTS, 22/09/09) Christian Castillo, a national leader of the Partido de los Trabajadores Socialistas (PTS), has condemned “the brutal offensive launched by the Honduran dictatorship against the demonstrators who had gathered outside the Brazilian embassy in Tegucigalpa. Hundreds of supporters from different points of the country were arrested in a stadium, following the same method used by Pinochet on 11 September 1973. Dozens of people have been injured and Radio Cable station has said that several people have died as a result. The army is storming into the homes of leading members of the National front of Resistance against the Coup in Honduras. The dictator Micheletti has even threatened to declare the state of siege and to storm the embassy to kidnap Zelaya. Today more than ever, we must redouble our protest against the coup in Latin America. From the PTS we call to build the widest solidarity with the Honduran people who are confronting the repression and standing against the dictatorship.”
Castillo has also highlighted that “it is clear that the talks promoted by Arias and other organisations that favours the USA have only allowed the cup mongers to save time. No negotiation with the murderers of the Honduran people!
