23.04.2015 The powerful campaign against Gaëtan’s prison sentence has achieved the support of important political, trade union and social figures. Names include Jean Luc Mélenchon, the leader of the Front de Gauche (Left Front) of France; filmmaker Ken Loach; the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC) of Britain; striking workers at Radio France, intellectuals such as Giorgio Agamben and Slavoj Zizek; and Latin American parliamentarians such as Luciana Genro and Marcelo Freixo of the Party of Socialism and Freedom (PSOL) in Brazil.
07.03.2015 On January 25, the Greek people voted against the Troika, the austerity measures and cuts that the Greek government has been enacting over the past few years. The huge number of votes for Syriza expressed profound social unrest and expectations of being able to stop the memorandum and the rescue plan imposed by the Troika
18.02.2015 The "troika" of the European Commission, European Central Bank and the IMF are putting pressure on the government of Greece, threatening to switch off their funding so that the Greek government submits to the "troika’s" programs of debt repayment and structural adjustment. These programs, with the complicity of the Greek bourgeoisie, have plunged the country into misery. In the face of this blackmail, it is necessary to organize the broadest international solidarity with the workers and people of Greece. What is needed is a campaign for the cancellation of debt and of opposition to these austerity plans.
10.02.2015 Greece is a supreme example of the accumulated effects of the world economic crisis. As the editorial writer of the Financial Times, Martin Wolf, indicates, unemployment has reached 26%, and the GDP is also 26% below its peak before the crisis of 2008. The expenditure of Greek society on goods and services has shrunk by at least an accumulated 40%. According to Paul Krugman, the "domestic devaluation" that took place in the Hellenic country, as a result of the fall in wages, and therefore, of the unit labor costs, reaches 16%.
09.02.2015 The overwhelming victory of Syriza (Coalition of the Radical Left) in Greece broke a decades-long hold on power by the two historical parties of the Greek ruling class, the social democratic Pasok and the center-right New Democracy. Syriza's leader, Alexis Tsipras took power on promises to reverse the widely-despised austerity program and re-negotiate Greece's international debt repayment with the so-called troika of the EU, IMF, and European Central Bank (ECB).
25.01.2015 On January 25th there will early elections in Greece, elections which are being followed with huge expectations throughout all of Europe. These elections have emerged as a product of the profound political, economic and social crises that have shaken Greece to its foundations for more than 6 years, placing it at the center of the hurricane of the capitalist crisis.
20.01.2015 The heads of state of Germany (Angela Merkel), the United Kingdom (David Cameron), Spain (Mariano Rajoy), and Italy (Matteo Renzi) confirmed their participation this Sunday in the demonstration called by Hollande's government, alongside of all the parties of the French regime, after the attack against the satirical weekly publication, "Charlie Hebdo."
16.01.2015 The attack against Charlie Hebdo and the anti-Semitic hostage taking in a kosher supermarket at Porte de Vincennes to which the immense republican marches of this past weekend responded have set the stage for Hollande’s comeback on the front of the political scene. In only a few days, the conjuncture has been profoundly modified. It remains however to be known if this situation will consolidate itself.
20.11.2014 On the night of October 25-26, a young man, 21 years old, an environmental activist, Rémi Fraisse, was murdered by the French police during a protest against the construction of a dam in the south of France. While the weak government of François Hollande was seeking to make its "authority" worth something, this crime could cause quite the opposite. For the time being, only the great "respect for the republican institutions" of reformist parties and organizations and even of groups of the "far left," allows the crisis not to intensify and turn into a massive popular mobilization.
14.07.2014 For several months, the opposition to Hollande's government was on the right, with the reactionary mobilizations against marriage equality and the election results of the extreme right, which stood out in the French political landscape.

They have been leading a strike against precarious employment and dismissals for more than 3 months. We send our solidarity to the strikers and the NPA, the political organisation of Gaël Quirante, one of the detainees. We condemn the Hollande government’s persecution of the workers and its criminalization of social protest and we demand their immediate release.

13.05.2014 For the last 3 months the postal workers of the Paris Arrondissement 92 have been carrying out a hard struggle against the layoffs of their comrades in a precarious situation. The struggle started with the demand to hire the precarious postal workers of Rueil-Malmaison with proper contracts: 87 % of the postal workers in this office took action to defend the right of their co-workers to continue working with them.
25.04.2014 The working women and men of Panrico and Coca Cola are leading the biggest strikes in Spain. The war cry of Coca Cola Fuenlabrada is "Neither closures nor layoffs," a program of struggle linked to the "Zero layoffs, zero wage cuts" of the strikers at Panrico. If it is a matter of coordinating or socializing the the struggles, these courageous working men and women are trailblazers.
02.04.2014 Since February 10, the workers of Greif, a manufacturer for packaging products, occupy one of the company’s four factories in Istanbul. Since March 14, the growing group of workers who support the strike also occupied the rooms of the Turkish Textile Trade Union (DISK/Textile) and demand active support from union officials. One of the workers was interviewed by Suphi Toprak (Revolitionary Internationalist Organization, German section of the FT-CI).

20.03.2014 The dispute between the imperialist powers and Russia over defining the destiny of Ukraine, took a new jump with the annexation of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol – the base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet – to the Russian Federation, after 97% of the population of this strategic peninsula, with a Russian-speaking majority, an autonomous Republic of Ukraine since 1954, voted to return to Russia.

09.11.2013 The recent mid-term elections in Argentina, which took place on October 27, represented an important defeat for President Cristina Kirchner and her Front for Victory. At the same time, the Trotskyist left performed very well.
25.09.2013 On Saturday, September 14, more than 100,000 Polish working women and men marched through the streets of Warsaw, the capital, to protest against the anti-popular measures that the government of the center-right Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, has been implementing, and the discontent created by the steep economic downturn that the country is going through.
14.09.2013 On September 3rd Non-Citizens move into the union house of Munich and declare in front of the press that their struggle is a class struggle. They decide to stay there and call upon the DGB (German Union Association) for political support of their demands: Unconditional recognition of their asylum applications, stop of all deportations, abolition of the residence restrictions and the closing of all asylum seeker camps. These are the same demands like the ones, the Non-Citizens made at their dry and unlimited hunger strike at Rindermarkt, Munich. But through the expression of class consciousness the fight of Non-Citizens gets a new political quality, which challenges revolutionaries and supporters for a clear positioning. At that point the limits of the previous movement as well as the expansion to different parts of the working class becomes apparent.
