Press Release
Kraft/Terrabusi: A New Shop Steward Committee
07/11/2009
(Buenos Aires, 11/5/09). At 11 am the New Shop Committee that won the
elections on 11/3 has officially been instated, after the ceremony
performed by Horacio Martinez and other members of the management, the
Union Secretaries, Lidia Crespo and Silvia Villareal, and
Administration of the Food Workers Union (STIA). They were defeated in
the attempt to rig the election and manipulate the election results.
Javier “Poke” Hermosilla, Pamela Bulacio, Elvio “Tano” Baldasarri,
Fernando Vardé, Julio Tevez, Nilda Juárez, Claudia Guzmán, Nidia
Gentile, Pablo Guzmán, Liliana Aguilera y Adrián Argañaraz are the new
members of the Shop Steward Committee. They walked through the plant
during different factory shifts as the workers congratulated them.
They received cheers and support from both the workers inside the
plant as well as the workers who were fired and still haven’t been
reincorporated.
They called out to Ramon Bogado and the other candidates on list 2 to
push for the recognition of the Sector Delegates and the struggle for
the reincorporation of the 53 workers, who are still fired.
For these first challenges the new Shop Steward Committee and
Delegates feel that they are backed by the hundreds of workers that
gave them their votes, by the fired workers (who weren’t allowed to
vote or run as a candidate) and by the union, social and political
organizations who have been supporting this great struggle lead by the
Kraft workers, who have become a symbol of the Argentine working
class.
